They offer a million dollars to resolve the Beal Conjecture.
If you are a math whiz , you may have a good chance of becoming a millionaire . A Texas banker is offering a reward of one million dollars to anyone who can resolve the Beal conjecture, a complex mathematical problem without solution since the early 90´s.
The American Mathematical Society, in Providence, Rhode Island, has confirmed that the prize will go to someone able to confirm or refute the conjecture, the solution should appear in a mathematical journal published accredited , assessed by independent experts.
The Dallas banker Andrew Be a, a self-taught mathematician, created the award that bears his name in 1997 with a budget of $ 5,000, but the number has been increasing ever since. His interest, he says, is to encourage young people to become interested in mathematics and science.
The American Mathematical Society ensures that the answer is more difficult than that of a similar problem that relates to Beal, Fermat 's Theorem, in which he participated, has remained unanswered for centuries.
Beal 's conjecture is easy to understand , but very difficult to prove. It is as follows :
They offer a million dollars to resolve the Beal Conjecture.
Where A, B , C , x , y, z are positive integers with x , y, z > 2, then A, B, and C must have a common prime factor .
